About Support PG
What We Do
Support PG helps businesses access the resources they need to sustain or pivot their business during the COVID-19 pandemic. This project builds community connections by sharing good news stories and inspiring local heroes.
How We Do It
This project overlays the supports, networks, and resources of each partner organization to gather the most up-to-date information that will help Prince George businesses when they need it most.
In March 2020, the Prince George Chamber of Commerce created an online listing of businesses that were still operating after COVID-19 was declared a pandemic and named it Support PG. Shortly after this, 11 community organizations partnered to provide additional support to the community during these challenging times. The partners envisioned and created a central website aimed at giving businesses central access to COVID-19 support resources and encouraging Prince George residents to support local businesses. The Chamber of Commerce’s business directory was integrated into this website and the Support PG name was used as it was now recognizable due to being promoted broadly through local media partnerships. An overarching brand was designed to give the website, social media channels, and marketing campaigns an instantly recognizable visual identity. 8 community partners continue to manage and maintain Support PG.
