On Sunday July 12 Downtown Prince George invites you to our re-imagined Downtown Summerfest!

That seems like the easiest sentence to write, but it was no easy task getting to it. The idiom “we’re building the plane while flying it” has been our motto since February.

The changes that we have seen this year have left many events in Prince George cancelled or postponed. When we had our first Downtown Summerfest Zoom meeting, the team at Downtown Prince George knew we wanted the event to go on – but none of us could imagine how.

Throughout our planning, our awesome community partners and supporters were there for us and willing to help us when we needed it. They were all just as excited as we were about the possibilities of re-imagining the future of events.

And soon, things started to not only make sense, but fall into place as well. Before we knew it, we had hit the ground running and “Downtown Summerfest – Take It Home!” was happening.

So, check out our re-imagined signature summer festival below.

We want to invite everyone to come together with your friends and family in your own backyard to enjoy fabulous food from downtown restaurants, fun & games with your own party pack and fantastic entertainment the whole family will love!

Taste of Summerfest

The famous Taste Pavilion became the Taste of Summerfest. And we made sure to bring you some very special meals at special deals.

Take this opportunity to order brunch/lunch or dinner on Sunday July 12 – have a picnic in your backyard or take your meal on the road to one of PG’s fabulous parks, or out to the lake. People who place pick up orders will be entered to win 1 of 10 $100 gift cards from participating restaurants.

Head to our website to check out the menu and order your meals!

Family Party Pack

We will miss the crowds in the downtown streets, but we wanted to find a way to help everyone celebrate summer with us! So, we created the Downtown Summerfest Party Pack.

We have joined with supporters and sponsors to include toys, a special PG coloring book, swag, activities, and a Downtown Summerfest – take it home agenda. The agenda will give you details on what to expect with the Time For Fun, Virtual event.

Order and pick up your party pack to win some great family prizes! The prizes include daily give-aways of Kids Fun Kits and a Grand Prize of a complete Outdoor Dining Set, and will be drawn live on-air with the CKPG Funchaser on Saturday.

Head to our website and order your own Family Party Pack!

Time For Fun

Starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday July 12, you can tune into our website for our virtual event. Listen to local musicians, learn a craft, do a science experience, mellow out with yoga, make a (adult) drink, take a cooking lesson.

We know that you don’t want to be stuck in front of computer if it’s a nice day (we don’t either), so our virtual event will be live on our website until Sunday July 19. Don’t forget to head to our Instagram (@downtownprincegeorge) and show us how you’re spending your Downtown Summerfest Sunday to be entered to win a Family Outdoor Game Package.

The team at Downtown Prince George looks forward to seeing everyone for Downtown Summerfest 2021!
