Kendall Robertson // Prince George Chamber of Commerce
The 35th annual Business Excellence Awards is fast approaching and given the circumstances of 2020, the event will look differently this year. The Prince George Chamber of Commerce has partnered once again with Northland Nissan and the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group to bring you the same awards show we all know and love, however, this year you can tune in to CKPG TV from the comfort of your own home on October 12th at 5, 6, and 11 PM! This year’s theme is “Response, Recovery, and Resiliency”, a nod to the hardships faced by businesses big and small amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, it is important that the business community comes together to celebrate the amazing work it does to support Prince George. Keep reading to find out four ways to make the most of the 35th Annual Business Excellence Awards!

Although we can’t watch this year’s show live and in person, we have the next best thing to keep the conversation rolling… social media! Join in on the conversation and interact with the Chamber team by using the hashtag #PGBEA35 on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook and don’t forget to tag the Chamber in your posts to show us your gala attire, food and beverage of choice, reactions to the awards, and even the answers to trivia questions that will pop up throughout the show!
The Business Excellence Awards will air on Thanksgiving Monday, and if you don’t want to cook dinner, we’ve got you covered! Birch & Boar Charcuterie & Provisions have created a few different snack options to enjoy during the show. Viewers can pick between a gourmet charcuterie board for two or five people or a deluxe snack tray. Make sure you pre-order your selection by calling the shop at 250-960-2292.
The Chamber of Commerce received more than 400 nominations this year, which broke the previous record from 2019. From there, the judging panel of about 30 business professionals had the difficult task of narrowing it down to just 4 finalists in each category. Ensure that you give thanks to all of the amazing businesses and organizations that operate in the City of Prince George, even if they weren’t named as a finalist.
Finally, make sure you tune in to CKPG TV on October 12th at 5, 6, and 11 PM! If you don’t have cable, head over to CKPGToday.ca at 5pm to stream the show! Congratulations to each and every one of the nominees… now tune in to find out who the finalists and winners of each award category are!
